The Iraqi president, Mr Jalal Talabani, received on Tuesday 11 September 2007 a delegation representing the leadership of the Iraqi Communist Party.
Talabani gave his views about political developments in the country, highlighting the recent agreement between four parties and the document of principles issued by five political leaders. He explained the ideas expressed in the document, which contribute to the advancement of the political process. He also stressed the role played by the Iraqi Communist Party in political life.
The delegation presented the Party’s views on recent political developments, and explained the main ideas in its recently launched Patriotic Democratic Plan to extricate the country from the political crisis. Talabani said that he will study the Plan and respond with his opinions on it.
The Iraqi CP delegation included Central Committee members Mufid al-Jazairy, Dr. Hassan Akif Hamoudi, Izzet Abu al-Timman and Jassim al-Hilfi.
