We convey the wholehearted comradely greetings of Iraqi Communists and their
best wishes for the success of your 12t National Congress (11-15
July 2007), which is taking place at an important
juncture in the life ! of your people and country.
We are confident that your Congress and its outcome will be a major
contribution to consolidating the vital role of your fraternal party within
the tripartite alliance with the ANC and COSATU,
! defending the interests of South African people,
especially the working class and toilers,
and deepening and developing the national democratic revolution in the
struggles ahead towards a socialist future.
While greeting your 12th National Congress, we
are proud of the special relationship between our two parties that has
developed over a period of more than three decades. We do not, and will not,
forget your consistent internationalist solidarity with the Iraqi Communists
and democrats in the face of bloody repression under Saddam’s fascist-type
dictatorship.
We also seize this opportunity to express our gratitude for
your party's
message of greeting to the 8th National Congress of our party that has been
recently held in Baghdad (10-13
May 2007). This important event in the life our party,
taking place under extremely difficult and complex
conditions in our country,
has demonstrated the determination of Iraqi Communists to
continue their struggle,
along with the Iraqi workers,
toilers and people,
to strengthen national unity,
defeat terrorism and sectarianism,
eliminate the legacy of dictatorship and occupation,
restore full national sovereignty and indepe! ndence,
and build a unified democratic and federal Iraq.
In this multifaceted and complex political process,
your continued support and solidarity,
along with all progressive and peace-loving
forces in the world, will be essential in
helping to achieve the legitimate aspir! ations of our Iraqi people and their
democratic forces.

While saluting your party’s record of relentless struggle
for 86 years,
and expressing our best wishes for the full success of your 12th
National Congress,
we look forward to strengthening and developing
further the fraternal ties between us in the joint international struggle,
against imperialism and the onslaught of capitalist globalization
